What’s in a Word? Today: Islamophobia (Part 7)

Ridding Australia of its endemic Islamophobia by shrill hectoring had so far proven ineffective for Randa Abdel-Fattah. Regrettably, free-thinking people (non-lefties)  still remain unconvinced, hence a different approach was needed. Perhaps it’s because many people openly thought that the lady doth protest too much that she’s had to resort to acquiring the pretence of academic respectability, and see if it that didn’t change things.
Acquiring academic credibility to support her medieval belief system by getting a university to agree to fund her research would be an allahsend* in her great CRUSADE** to rid sensible people of their natural aversion to all things Islam.

The Australian inborn trait of being able to see through bulls**t could still present a problem, though. What, therefore, would be the best way to make her case more palatable so as breach the university’s intellectual glass ceiling? Inspiration presented her with the secret magic word needed: Multiculturalism.

* I’ve coined a new PC-sensitive word here to convey the Islam version of “godsend” in the best way I could.
** Unfortunate choice of word here, possibly? (Readers’ comments are welcome.)
